Overview

Puzzle parking is a fully automated, multi-level mechanical parking system that moves platforms both vertically (up and down) and horizontally (left and right) to stack cars like a puzzle. Unlike dependent stackers, it is an independent system, meaning any car can be retrieved at any time without moving the other owners' vehicles. How It Works 1. The Empty Grid Space: The system operates on a grid with at least one vacant space on the ground and middle rows, acting as a shifting buffer. 2. Horizontal Pallet Shifting: When a user requests a car from the upper level, the ground-level platforms shift sideways to clear a path directly beneath it. 3. Vertical Drop: Once a clear vertical shaft is opened, the system lowers the requested platform to the ground level so the driver can safely exit. Key Types Over Ground 2-Level to 7-Level Systems: Can stack anywhere from 2 to 7 cars vertically, often with motors to individually park & retrieve each slot. Pit Puzzle Parking: The lowest level stays in a sub-grade pit — ground-level cars drive straight off, while pit cars lift up and top cars lower down to the entry/exit zone.
